Easee One — UK Compact EV Charger Review 2026
The Easee One is the right pick when installation space is tight. Norwegian-engineered, the smallest physical footprint of any OZEV-approved 7 kW charger — fits in narrow porches, corner mountings, and under-stair spaces where bigger chargers won't go. £799 fitted, OZEV-approved.
Why pick the Easee One?
Easee is a Norwegian manufacturer (founded in Stavanger, 2018) that designed the One specifically to be the smallest possible OZEV-approved 7 kW charger. The unit measures roughly 19.5 × 26 × 11 cm — about half the volume of a Pod Point Solo 3. For UK terraced homes with narrow porches, awkward corner installations, or under-eave mounting, this matters.
It's also the cheapest mainstream option (£799 fitted, tied with Ohme ePod), making it attractive for cost-conscious renters and flat owners who need an OZEV-grant-compatible charger and don't have specific tariff or solar requirements.
Strengths
- Smallest footprint: ~50% less volume than Pod Point Solo 3
- Lightweight: 1.4 kg — easy installation in challenging mounting locations
- Modular design: internal components serviceable, replaceable, future-upgradeable
- Cheapest tier: £799 fitted
- Multi-charger support: can connect up to 3 Easee Ones to the same supply, useful for landlord blocks or households with multiple EVs
Weaknesses
- App polish: functional but less refined than Ohme or Pod Point. Some UK users report intermittent Wi-Fi reconnection issues
- No tethered cable option: untethered only — you use your vehicle's own cable
- Octopus Intelligent Go integration: works but uses static schedule, not dynamic. Ohme remains better for Intelligent Go users
- Smaller installer network in UK: mostly southern coverage; northern installations may face longer wait times
